Holiday - I

The semester end examinations are yet to begin. But, as is the case with every student out there, I'm already planning all that I want to do after the exams. Of course I'll buy clothes, movies, games and books. Lots of books. Of course, there'll be one or two of those mandatory trips to the Taj Mahal or a movie or just Sadar Bazaar. But, this time, I want to go on a special trip.

Consider it somewhat like a soul searching quest.

I want to go to Delhi. Then from Delhi to Dehradun. And back to Agra from there.

I've realized something. I don't want a digital SLR (not that I won't accept if I'm actually presented with one). I don't want a computer costing almost Two Lakhs. I just want this trip. And if this trip does happen, my ol' Probook and my cell phone camera will serve me just fine..

I've started arranging for a car. And my driver. But I need to get rid of this persistent cold that irritates me throughout the winter.

Another thing. I don't want everyone to go. No.
Of course I want my pals to go. But, my mind's got two conflicting ideas. One voice in my mind says that I ought to take everyone I can fit in my car. And come to think of it, that is the proper way to go. After all, I can't take some of my pals and leave my other pals behind. I just can't do that.

On the other hand, an other voice in my mind says that I know that I want to take only certain people and I just can't ignore this fact.

This is some situation.

So.. what I think I should do is that I should finalize all the other details of the trip. Like a list of all the places I want to see (like L.B.S.N.A.A... ) and hotel reservations, costs etc.

Knowing some of my pals as I do, they'll most probably not go. I know this despite the great enthusiasm I've seen in all those whom I've told about this little plan of mine. In such a condition, I will have to drop Dehradun and will have to be content with only Delhi. After all, what good is Dehradun without your pals (and other people)?

I want to take my laptop with me. So that I'd be able to transfer all the pics I'd shoot and if (hopefully), I find an internet connection somewhere, I'd post the pics to my Flickr account. And of course, I'd blog. Blog. And Blog.

I remember that Manali trip. I wrote a 14 page essay on that. If everything goes according to plan, then I'll make this trip worthy of a 20-page essay and the number of photographs that'll be clicked is anyone's guess..

The mountains make me want to write poetry. Not many people know this but I used to write poetry not so long ago. I guess when the time's right, I'll post some poems here on this page. But, all romance aside, what really invigorates a guy like me is a little stint in low temperatures.

These are the best months of the year and I intend to enjoy them as much as I can..
