And so begins the Summer...

It's 3am and probably for the first time in years, I'm looking at the night sky. And it's clearer than ever before. I'm not being romantic or poetic here. The electricity grid developed a fault somewhere in my region. That and the cool weather prompted me to set up camp outside in my garden. And it's beautiful. It's just making me happy for some reason. I always relish some peace and quiet and, I don't know what, starlight?

My computer is discharged and I'm typing all this on my iPod and I'm disconnected from the internet. But I'm kind of liking this. In between all that compulsive facebooking and neatoramaing, I never really did get the time to write a post for my blog.

The repair crew from the Electricity company is working outside my house. And with their yellow hazard headgear and the temporary lighting system that they've set up, it all seems a bit like Jurassic Park really what with all those wires mangled up with the trees of the Bhadawar estate and that light rain. Like they're setting up the fencing for the Raptor paddock or something.
It's all very beautiful. Everytime I come outside in the night, I always think of buying a telescope but then I go inside and that telescope gets lost in the pursuit of lesser toys like a laptop or a DVD or clothes. But now I'm sure of it. What I really want is a telescope. Because looking at the stars is making me happy. I feel disconnected. I can see the Universe. The staggering scale of things makes you want to appreciate science and man's desire to explore the skies. It makes me laugh at our so called problems, romantic and otherwise. What could be more interesting than the Universe with concepts like time travel and the possibility of Alien contact?
I can see the Moon now. For some unexplicable reason, this always makes me nostalgic. And while nostalgia for my pals runs back to Class X only, I remember the time when I was in Nursery and the years after that. My house with all the cousins and dogs. It's quite different now.

The reason why I was not able to update my blog for so long is because I was quite busy. While the PUTs and the Semester exams kept us busy for most of the days, pals from Amity and other universities who had finished with their semester kept us busy in the remaining days. And then there was college. Colorful college life, with its characters and romances and tragedies and the infectious chaos, the girls and the grades. Believe me, if you're a keen observer, you'll see you're very own Ulysses in UPTU. The epical four years.

Now that the exams are over, I can finally write. I will be spending the summer in Noida learning Core Java with a couple of friends. If I find a net connection somewhere, rest assured I will blog. Relentlessly. Even if I don't find a net connection, I plan on writing the whole thing down anyways. In a leather bound notebook. Because it's Delhi. I've got history on my side. Most of my pals in or near the National Capital don't realize this. Needless to say, some of them are too dumb to realize this.
For those of you who are even remotely interested in history, I strongly recommend Ramchandra Guha's 'India After Gandhi'. If there is one book that can evoke love and respect and awe for you're country, it is this. Excellent.
It's kind of ironic how I'm writing for my blog when the Internet is down. I am finally disconnected from Facebook which had taken over my browser since quite some time now. Maybe I should do this often. Anyways, here I am.. In that time of the year when everyone comes back to Agra and we spend the long and boring summer with ice creams and pointless get togethers. And I'm leaving Agra for Noida in a couple of days. It's all for the better though. I needed to get away from some things, I needed to clear my mind and this will help me do just that.

And yeah, I have now posted all those awesome videos I had made on my Vimeo page, all five of them. All of them made during the previous year. Check em' out over here. And post you're comments here. Enjoy'...
